Busy Busy Busy

I have been busy busy busy!!! This past weekend my parents took me to the pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins. It was a beautiful day and the place was filled with kids. They were running all over the place and I wanted to run too, but I had to be on a leash… My parents were in a dead stop, I had no clue why, I did everything possible to grab their attention and let them know I wanted to play too. Then, all of a sudden, I knew exactly why we were waiting, we were going on a hayride! The tractor came riding up filled with hay!!! I was nervous at first, my dad had to carry me on because I was a little hesitant, but once I was on, I was ready to go! I would dive my little beard right into the hay and gnaw, that was until the ride was over. Then it was time to search for the biggest orange things possible! My dad unhooked the leash, this means I was free to prance around, as I like. The leaves of the pumpkins were nothing I had ever seen before; they were scary looking! Every time I would jump into the pumpkin patch, the leaves would continue to shake… it made me so curious!

After picking out three perfect pumpkins, it was time to ride back on the hayride. My little paws and beard got so dirty… I loved it… Mommy and daddy, not so much. By the time we got home, I was exhausted! I did not even realize my parents had left to go to a football game. When they came home, I was in a daze on the couch, like it was a dream!

Later on that evening, I went to Nugget’s house, but to my dismay, Nugget was not there. I searched high and low for my girlfriend… I thought she was gone forever. It was like my parents had dropped me off to torture me! I cried for three straight hours. It was not any old cry; these were tears of extreme mourning. My best friend was long gone, as well as my parents! When my parents finally did return, they thought I looked like a rabid animal.

The next morning, Nugget returned! She had just left with her parents for the evening. While Nugget’s parents were checking the mail… they came across a little warning. Someone must have called and complained regarding my cries that Saturday evening, therefore, animal control came by and gave a warning. Who knows if they would have snatched me up! I am more then grateful that they did not!

Rainy Friday

Yesterday at the doctors was torturous!! I tried to act tough and give the impression that I had no idea what the veterinarian office was, or that this was the place they took away my manhood, or the place where they stick things up my butt, or put me on a cold, metal platform thing. Oh no, I am no Brad Pitt! I started to shake and quiver with fear. When the “nice” lady called my name to enter one of their dungeons, I slowly followed.

I knew it. I knew they were going to stick something up my butt again. Gosh I hate that place. Then the doctors try to entice me with their generic cookies and massage my head… imposters! I gave mom the pitiful face hoping she would comprehend the message I was sending.

We left with some antibiotics and a special shampoo. I guess I have sensitive skin. They compared my case to humans having acne. I am entering those teenage years!

I got to visit Nugget today! It was only for a short minute because Nugget’s mommy and daddy were taking their youngest son to his first year at college. Hopefully I get to play with her tomorrow!

The pictures above are of Nugget and I at the beach a few weeks ago!

Uh ohhh, someone’s knocking at the door! Woof woof!

How Time Does Fly!

I apologize for the lack of updates! I was visiting my Grandma and Grandpa in New York. They have a house on the lake and I experienced my first swim… in the deep end. Though mom had put a lifejacket on me, I didn’t know what was going! Dad would put me in the water and, instinctively, I would kick all four of my little legs, creating a paddling motion. Talk about exhausting. I got the hang of it and would want to do it all the time, well that is if my mom or dad was in the water. It is always more fun to swim to someone then to look out into the open water and immediately feel lost!!

Swimming was not the only highlight to the trip! Going there, I got to spend eight wonderful hours going bye-bye with my mom and dad. Then, when we got there, Grandma went nuts!! She was saying/ screaming my name in this high pitched voice, I got excited, especially once I took a good whiff of the house… quickly remembering the other creatures, four cats that like to “play” hide-and-seek.”

Three of the cats are huge, bigger then me! But they never want to play L. The other one is a whopping three pounds, but man is she fierce. Her name is Zoë and she is one challenge. Good thing there were plenty of people who loved giving me the attention I need and adore… beat that Zoë.

Oh, how I wish I were still there. Now, I am back in Virginia. Sigh No cats to torture, but I do have my Nugget! Nugget is a one-year-old yellow lab whom I am deeply infatuated with. She is daddy’s parents pride and joy. So I always get to see her J. We spent three amazing weeks in the Outerbanks together.

Yesterday, daddy took me to “Camp Nugget.” All day I got to play with my best friend! We played “find it,” had lots of treats, butt tucked, tug of war, the typical things best friends do. I was soooo Night-Night when I finally got home.

And today… I have to go to the vet! Sometimes I really like it there, mostly every time, because the women there give me so much loving. I’ve had this exasperating sensation all summer. We all thought the mosquitoes have gotten the best of me, but the mosquitoes are no longer biting so who knows what’s going on! I will let you all know!

Just Another Day

So here I am. Stuck at home. Alone. Whenever I am given a new bone or a really delicious peanut butter cookie, I know what’s coming… mommy and daddy is going bye-bye. The problem is I am a 9-½ month old black/ silver miniature schnauzer. I guess you can say I get into things I am not quite supposed to be getting into, but I can’t help it!! Being stuck here makes me wonder around and curiosity overwhelms me! There’s this grandiose room suffused with reds, golds, and blues, flowers, and this adorned chair and table set… my beard was brimming with saliva… it would be unfair not to try such a luscious looking bone. Well, it turns out that this delicious and appetizing treat was not for Oliver. I try to have a taste every chance I get, but now I don’t even think the punishment is worth it. Today was the worst. Lets just say I won’t be putting my needle teeth into that piece of furniture ever again!

After a few hours of watching Animal Planet and roaming around the house, mommy and daddy finally made an appearance. They gave me some hugs and kisses as I begged for more attention. They even took me to the local colleges lacrosse field and ran with me! It was so much fun, kind of like tag! We were all running in different directions and I was definitely “it.” The heat and running got to me, I guess my tongue hanging out of my mouth gave away my exhaustion. We finally made it back home and, currently; I am ready to pass out until it is a new day! I hate it when it is 100 degrees outside, but I love snuggling inside my 68-degree abode! Goodnight!

Hello !!!

Hello everyone! My name is Oliver and I am a male miniature schnauzer. I was an early Christmas gift and was born on October 15 in snowy Buffalo, New York. My parents live in Virginia; just a slight weather change! My best friend is my dad’s parents yellow lab, Nugget! We play tug of war, tackle each other, and “butt tuck.” That is when Nugget tucks in her butt and runs like the wind throughout the house and I chase her or vice versa!
I have a few favorites including bones, peanut butter, cheese, hiding underneath the bed, walks, the beach, the boat, go bye-bye, and, of course, snuggling with my mom and dad. I have already experienced so much as a pup and would love to share my travels with you!
